On the way to SBFYC 2008

Posted by Jim Rector on July 5, 2008

The Saved By Faith Youth Challenge 2008 begins on Monday. My son Josh is playing in the worship band this year so him and I have already left and are in Tulsa. We took off from the Austin area yesterday around 12:40 pm and seven hours and 15 minutes later completed the 450 mile trip. We only made two stops that lasted about 5 minutes each.

This year’s topic is “Relationships that honor God” and should be a great topic for our young people. From the SBFYC site – “This year’s featured speaker is Roy Hargrave, Senior Pastor of Riverbend Community Church in Ormond Beach, Florida. Pastor Hargrave has been in the ministry for more than 33 years, and is now in his 18th year as Senior Pastor at Riverbend Church.”

It should be a rewarding time. If I get some time I may blog a few of the sessions. I’m also this year’s “camp photographer.”
